Sean Ghattas

Sean is a Partner at Angus Cameron and Partners, practising exclusively in criminal defence. He holds a Juris Doctor from La Trobe University and a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours in Philosophy) from Deakin University.

Sean began his career at Fitzroy Legal Service and the Neighbourhood Justice Centre, where he developed deep expertise in the fines system, regularly advising and representing clients navigating infringement notices, enforcement orders and related proceedings — an area in which he continues to assist clients today.

In 2021, Sean joined Angus Cameron and Partners as a Senior Associate. During that time he developed an extensive Magistrates' Court practice, appearing daily across a wide range of matters including robbery, burglary, sexual assault, assault and traffic offences. He became a Partner of the firm in 2025, and his practice is now focused on indictable offences and trials. He acts for clients charged with some of the most serious criminal offences, including homicide, rape and other sexual offences, drug trafficking, violent offending, fraud and dishonesty offences, and complex Commonwealth prosecutions.

Sean provides strategic advice and representation at every stage of the criminal process — from the earliest stages of a police investigation through to committal hearings, jury trials, pleas, bail applications and appeals. He regularly appears in the Magistrates', County and Supreme Courts of Victoria. Known for his meticulous preparation, careful forensic judgment and composed courtroom advocacy, Sean works closely with his clients to ensure they understand the process and the strategic decisions that arise at each stage of a proceeding.

His experience across all Victorian criminal jurisdictions puts him in a strong position to provide clients facing serious allegations with clear, practical advice — and to guide them through what is often a challenging and high-stakes process with confidence and professionalism.
